The deadlands

Drajlor, a young prince clothed in the silken luxuries of nobility, knows nothing beyond the gilded halls and whispered intrigues of court. Yet, destiny's hand tugs him from this silver cage. A forgotten realm, its glory a withered husk of the past, awaits. His birthright and a crucible to forge his true self is lingering on the horizon.

His departure is imminent. Uncle Emen, battered and world-worn, stands as a beacon, ready to ignite the perilous trek north. There, far from the coddling confines of his past, Drajlor must wrestle with the untamed wilderness, a mirror reflecting the turmoil raging within. Ancient shadows lurk in these forgotten lands, ready to test not only his mettle, but the very essence of his soul.

The Inspiration

Why did I make this?

Firstly, this novel took me around five years to get off the ground into the public eye. I couldn't have done this without the help of my famed editor, Julian Harding who was the first to enter this world and the last to lay eyes on it before it's release!

If not for my own personal journey in the USA, this novel would simply not exist.

The vibe.

The novel

In order to create something as tangible as a novel, I drew a lot of my inspiration to those old 80's art pieces that where found on fantasy novels of the time. I wanted to express a world that was so full of character yet held a strange sense of liminality within. I was also deeply inspired by the sadness of the Dark Souls universe and once I managed to blend everything together, I created the world of Ahura. The Deadlands.
